The system consists of a transmitter and a receiver, which together enable effective line detection. The receiver detects live wires acoustically and visually, and the sensitivity and volume can be adjusted individually. A headphone jack ensures clear signal perception even in noisy environments.

In addition to locating cables, the PAN cable locator offers a complete LAN tester function: network and telephone cables (RJ45, RJ11, BNC) can be tested for continuity, breaks, short circuits or reversed wires. Optical continuity testing and tests of conventional telephone lines are also possible.
